Proof that it was real
A collection of 9 objets that I got left with after a heartbreak. Everything material gets enclosed in white linen to preserve what once was, like an empty home with furniture hugged by white dust covers. Photographed as evidence, the objects become an archive. Protection is a sentiment that has been with me for years and to depict it visually is a task I naturally come back to, grief needs a manifestation. Here, a truly personal, yet a very universal need to handle the things and their emotional baggage. Is this a way to preserve a memory, to keep it intact? Or to keep them around without the possibility to engage? Or a way to visually erase them while still holding on? linen
